Loading less than lethal

I make less lethal bear rounds by glueing a 158gr wadcutter in the middle of a Winchester pink wad, then filling the rest of the wad up with hot glue. I load these on a 16gr charge of titewad. They dent a 45 gallon drum decently well. 20gr puts holes in the drum. Bears don’t seem to like them. Best used 25m max range.

For the 12Ga. Side by side I punch 4 Wads out of 1/2" Rubber Belting which have a good friction fit. I use a heavy Cardboard over Powder Card. No Wad, no crimp no Glue easy peasy. Patterns into 4" circle at 10 feet. At this range they could be lethal to some "Animals". Never had a "treated" Bear coming back for seconds.

Cheers

I just dump the pellets out of a 12ga trap round and fill the wad with melted wax.

It's non lethal, on larger animals, like racoons, but will kill a smaller animal, such as a rabbit, if it's less than twenty meters away.

I should add, if you want the loads to be even less painful, half fill the wad, still in the shell, with small styrofoam pellets before pouring in the wax. Just remember to stir it all up while it's still hot enough to mix. The foam pellets will partially melt, but will reduce a lot of weight.
