Hey guys I have been loading for my ar's for a bit and have good loads done up. I'm getting into the precision game and have a savage 12 with 1"bull bbl 18.5" with 1/9 twist

Anyone have experience loading for something like this?

My range has a max distance of 220yards. I won't be doing much long range stuff but there is the possibility of getting to do some longer range work 5-800yrds.

I'm loading 52gr hpbt and 55gr fmjbt

I shoot a heavy barrel Savage 10fp in .223 cal. Have been loading 25.5 gr of Varget with a Sierra 55 gr HP # 1390 bullet. This load has worked very well for me and will shoot less that .5 @ 100m.

With 1:9 twist your rifle will stabilize 60-70 gr bullets. It will be fine with 55 gr bullets too. IMR 4895 gave me best results with most bullet weights in my 223's. Did a bit of load testing using CFE 223. Great accuracy but didn't chronograph any loads.

Thanks for the info guys. I've been using H322 since it's been relatively available and has worked well. I have 1lb of varget to play with but will probably pick up some IMR4895 since I've seen it on the shelves recently.
