Pretty much what I was thinking.
I'll load some up starting with what was suggested, and then work up.
Cheers!

My 1-8 twist #17 contour Krieger loves 105 Berger VLDS, cci 450s , 29.5 gr Varget, Lapua Cases, seated 15 thou in the lands. Little tiny holes at 100 & 200 m all day long.

Hey Bob, out of curiosity, what velocity are you at? My 30 gr tack-driving load with the twin to your barrel is at 2790 and my 31 grain tack driving load is at 2910

Hey Obtunded, I have about 250 rounds down the pipe and I havent run any accross the chrony for a while but at last check the were runin 2735. I have talked to a few guys that have said the Kriegers need 5-600 down the barrel and they will start to give you a little more speed. Another fellow I know has a Shillen from Jerry that is an inch shorter that is getting anther 150 fps out of the same load. whats your take on that.

Bob,

The most likely explanation for speed variation is not the barrel, it is the Varget. My last batch of Varget requires a full grain more powder to maintain the same speeds as the previous batch - in the same barrel. I have never had a BR get noticably faster with more use. This is a known phenomenon and a source of much frustration when having to switch to a new batch. The most consistent powder I have ever used was RL15, but it is hard to find in quantity.
