Loads too light? Glock 17

Well, I just got finished loading 15 round batches, one at 4.1 gr, one at 4.2 gr and one at 4.3 gr. I kept the COAL constant for these loads. Now....if only someone at my club could show up at the same time with a chronograph.

Will do, now that I got my ATT, I will be shooting at least once per week, but likely twice, it just sucks that my club only allows centerfire on Wed and Sun.

None of either group had trouble chambering, but not a single bullet out of each lot (loaded 100 of each combination) extracted. Every single round either stovepiped, or didn't even leave the chamber.

During load developement I try to keep my loads down to a moderate number 8-10 rounds per batch, incase of trouble. Saves pulling a bunch of bullets.

YMMV, Derek

I'm surprised no-one's said, but the excessive powder residue on the outside of the cases, is a definite indicator of low pressure. The case is not expanding to the size of the chamber, hence gases and powder can get back around the mouth of the case, after the bullet leaves the casing.

I don't get no respect.....post #16.:p

Here is my work up in my CZ75b ,
My AIM 124 Load workup:
Bullet Manufacturer :AIM Bullet Weight: 124 grains
Powder Type : 231 Powder Weight: 3.8 grains
Primer: CCI C.0.L. 1.100
Average Velocity : 912.4 Power Factor: 113

Bullet Manufacturer : AIM Bullet Weight: 124 grains
Powder Type : 231 Powder Weight: 4.0 grains
Primer: CCI C.0.L. 1.100
Average Velocity : 953.0 Power Factor: 118

Bullet Manufacturer : AIM Bullet Weight: 124 grains
Powder Type : 231 Powder Weight: 4.2 grains
Primer: CCI C.0.L. 1.100
Average Velocity : 1006.2 Power Factor: 125

Bullet Manufacturer : AIM Bullet Weight: 124 grains
Powder Type : 231 Powder Weight: 4.4 grains
Primer: CCI C.0.L. 1.100
Average Velocity : 1022.0 Power Factor: 127

Bullet Manufacturer : AIM Bullet Weight: 124 grains
Powder Type : 231 Powder Weight: 4.6 grains
Primer: CCI C.0.L. 1.100
Average Velocity : 1063.5 Power Factor: 132

4.6-4.8 seems ideal at 1.100 C.O.L.

I load 10 at each powder setting and chrony them.

FWIW, with 115gr plated bullets and 4.7gr. 231 I get very flattened primers.
With 124gr. w/4.4gr. 231, primers look normal.
Haven't put any over the Chrony.

Or posts number 2 and 13, as well as 16.

Thanks for that info guys, I couldn't quite remember what the signs of low pressure were when I was posted this.

THis is the source I remember, I just couldn't recall who posted it. Thank you very much, its definitely useful information.

So, any updates yet???

I think I posted it in another thread,

The 4.3 loads worked out great, a new problem I encountered was that my gun wasn't locking the slide back on the last round. It did it like 10 times. As it turns out.....my grip was covering the slide lock level and holding it down

D'oh!
