Location for indoor range near GTA?

I think if one was placed in the central hub of Liberalism it may be able to sway more people and perhaps open a few minds up to target shooting. I think if a gun range was built in central Toronto it would thrive. Toronto has 2.4 million people. Membership would flourish. Toronto used to have many indoor gunclubs. The problem with them was they were located on city land....at a stroke of a Miller(Toronto Mayor circa late 1990's not the beer) pen they all vanished...only one exists in the city that I know of. Centrally located by a central artery, the don't valley at Lawrence. I'm pretty sure their membership is mostly full. A private club that shares its space with other clubs.
I think it would be a win win for the gun community....If you build they will come. And maybe get a few liberal thinkers swayed into the sport...it would be a good change...

Dons view is not very accessible. Cherry St has DVP and Gardiner. Not to mention public transit.

And I am just around the corner. :)

Not allowed to carry firearms on the TTC. Except for staff or meeting a friend, public transit is irrelevant.

Etobicoke
Mississauga
Ajax
Pickering
Whitby
Oshawa
Markham
Vaughan

those are the places most near by and most accessible. anywhere east of brampton, south of vaughan and west of oshawa on the 401 IMO is the most central location

Why only 1? Why not open a couple? =)

Who's got the million dollars for the air handling and back stop setup? Even though they have no jurisdiction, don't be surprised that the CFO is going to start ruling on air quality issues.

Hamilton! I wouldn't even consider the rest of the GTA and here is why.
-cheaper land and more if it
-less liberals
- less liberal red tape to jump through
- less traffic and more available parking
- a very high concentration of shooters
- the possibility to have both an indoor /outdoor range
- less citiots (you will attract both city and rural folk)
- a perfect opportunity to fill in the voids left by other gun shops in the area.
- lower operational costs therefore a cheaper membership, equating to more revenue
- within an hour drive of the armpit of Ontario.
- central to most major cities

Not a chance it is. Toronto and Brampton come to mind. Hamilton is actually very nice if you look past downtown. Waterfall capital of the world. And I'm not saying this because I live there. I'm actually moving away from Hamilton. Also I'm not bias as I belong to a club in burford close to where I'm moving

There is a building in Bowmanville, that is very close to the 401 and is very big. It was supposed to be a Rona Building Centre. I can send you the realtor's name/number if you are interested. It has been vacant for about 3 years, so may be a good deal. Good luck.

Vaughan or King Township makes the most sense as it's central and just north of Toronto and easily accessible by hwy 400

Indoor only? Markham. Close enough to the city, close to highways 404, 407...even the 401 and 400. Pretty affluent community, lots of industrial/manufacturing areas an indoor range shouldn't create any hiccups. There is a small one (indoor range) north of there that caters mostly to clubs that rent range space.

If such a business like this opened in Markham that had lots of room to shoot, had a great retail store with good pricing and inventory...they'd see me there 2x a week!

this ......makes business sense .! lol :agree::welcome:

We need something dead center. No need to hide. Make it mainstream

Good luck getting approval to do that from the city. Especially with John Tory's recent comments regarding licensed gun owners. I don't think he wants to be associated in any way, shape or form with us.

EDIT: I assumed you meant dead center Toronto.
