Lock looks to be original. Also looks to be a replacement, judging from the inletting. Barrel could be darn near anything. I wouldn't want to speculate on its breeching, given the location of the touch hole.
Things tended to get recycled.
greetings-very similar to mine as both use the same lock. re-cycled british parts from broken or battlefield recovery. your lock shows the earlier logo which i believe changed in 1809 to a rampant lion with the crown between front paws which mine has and dated 1814. my barrel is 45" and who knows when it was actually assembled but guess in the 1820-1850 range. regards
I recall seeing the tattered remains of a large bore (darn near an inch) D. Egg rifle with an EIC musket lock hacked into the side.
Had boxes of ex-India gunparts at one time. Lots of EIC bits, and copies thereof.
