I want to put a dab of locktight on the grip screws of my Wilson Combat 1911, but want to something so tight that I end up screwing out the grip bushing if ever I change grips.

Any colour recommendations? One that will secure the screws, but still let me unscrew them if I need to.

Make sure it is "Blue", it is a medium hold and works very well (i use it), you only need a little amount. Keeps the screws locked down tight and wont shoot loose, but easy to unscrew with screwdriver when you need too take your 1911 apart.

Not on the grip screws...

I am not a gunsmith, but I suggest if you are going to use any Loctite you use it on the bushings and not on the screws.

If the screws are Loctite'd to the bushings you may end up trying to turn the bushing out of the grip instead of the screw out of the bushing.

Mr. Kuhnhausen (who is a gunsmith) recommends red Loctite on the bushing (p. 74).

Order in the purple - very handy stuff to have around.

I'm not recommending this vendor (only because I've never dealt with them), but they include some useful info about Locktite 222MS:
