Locking lug busted... Think it is reparable ?

I somehow doubt I will find one anywhere...
We were having issues with this gun and after a while it showed us there was a major problem
I took it apart yesterday , and today I figured out how to get the bolt out...
Lug is busted...

Thinking about trying to weld it up with my mig.
I wish I had a machinist friend , but I don't..

This was the show all tell all that put it out of service, the green one sent me looking for the red one...

I wouldn't even consider a welding repair.

ya unless you get proper steel and machine a part, welding it will just weaken and make the metal brittle unless you heat treat it properly.

After reading the above posts and thinking about the chance of brittle steel...NO WELDING is being considered now.
but if anyone has seen this part or knows another shotgun parts will fit from, It would be a great help

first of all, trim yer fingernails. Yikes.

Second, that part can be made by a machine shop. It should be milled from something like 4140 and heat treated. The final fitment should probably be done by a smith before the steel is hardened.

I'll bet wolverine can help you. When it comes to those kinds of parts new is the way to go unless it is extremely rare and valuable...

What would cause the heads of those shells to bulge like that?. I have put a lot of shells through many shotguns and I have never seen shells do that. Its a shame the gun failed, that is one badass looking shotgun.

It fired on an unlocked bolt....
fortunatly the lockup jammed up at less than 1/4 inch open.
John is looking into parts for me
There is no gaurantee that I will be able to get them.

But I would rather attempt to fix this than have a cool walhanger ;-)

In the meantime I ordered a new Grizzley 12 1/2 inch with ghost rings
