lol I broke my Norinco M93

So yesterday I took my pistol out to the range and shot a few hundred rounds with no issues. Everything functioned fine. Back home I decided to give the thing a clean because it looked pretty dirty and likely needed a bit of lubricant. I took the pistol down according to the instructions, and everything went fine there as well. When it came to reassembly, however, the **** went down.

As I placed the slide back on the frame I pushed it forward to release the recoil spring. I racked the slide a couple times to check the function, and that's when I heard a faint "cling" sound and noticed that a small piece that looked like a screw fell out. When I looked at the top of the pistol I noticed that it was the assembly lock plunger thing that had decided to relocate itself. The pistol now looks like this, with a noticeable hole where the plunger once sat:

When I tried to pull the slide back again I encountered another problem. The slide now seems to be "stuck" and won't move past the position shown in this photo:

In other words, I think that weird shaped assembly lock spring or whatever the hell it is is jammed somewhere in there and is preventing the slide from moving freely. I also don't know how the hell it happened.

So my question to any experts out there is the following: There doesn't seem to be a way to take off the slide without removing the backstrap. As anyone who owns this pistols knows, the backstrap won't come out unless the tension on the recoil spring is released (or as far as I know). That doesn't seem to be possible at the moment because the spring is engaged. Does anyone know another way to do it, or failing that, know of a way to fix it or someone who can actually fix this particular gun? Or have I just "bricked" my gun, making it a futile endeavor to repair it?

The only fix I know involves 2 feet of string and deep water or tall grass.

If it was mine I would be tapping it hard on a block of wood, hoping the hang up would release.

Get a miniature car jack and try to pry it open. If that doesn't work want to sell me your mags?

other than that, I think your going to have to do afull take down, so you can move the sear and shove a dowel up, and push the recoil spring catch back up so you can get it off, recapture and re assemble..

The problem is that I can't really take the gun down because the pin that's supposed to capture the recoil spring has fallen out. There's still tension on the recoil spring so there seems to be no way to remove the backstrap. The slide is just totally jammed on something within (I think the assembly lock piece fell out when the plunger fell out but it got jammed inside somehow). So unless someone knows how to take the gun down without capturing the recoil spring the only thing I can probably do is forcefully try to pry it open which will probably wreck it anyway.

In any event if I can't fix it I probably will put the mags up for sale lol

I currently have a m93 in about 40 pieces, bought it as bag o gun and am working on re assembling lol

If your assembly lock is not broken I believe could be a way to take the gun apart .My understanding of your problem is that assembly lock plunger some how is fallen

inside the M93 slide. If you could move your slide back and use a same diameter piece of metal(Same Size as assembly lock plunger) to push the assembly lock and engage

the lock you might be able to disassemble it.

An update to the M93 saga:

So I managed to get it apart by putting a paper clip into the empty hole where the plunger was. This did...something that allowed me remove the back strap and remove the slide. Sure enough, the assembly lock piece was bent out of shape so I bent it back as best as possible and put it back in place with the plunger. Then I went through the painstaking process of putting the recoil spring back in (ugh) and I reassembled the pistol. Everything seemed to be okay after that except for one problem: after I pulled the trigger the firing pin seems to work but there seemed to be a lot of stiffness in the slide when attempted to rack it after firing (it took a fair amount of force to move it back). As such, I'm not sure if this thing will cycle rounds properly. Everything seems to be back in the right place so I'm not sure that deal is. Anyway, I'll see if it actually fires.

If not, it's parts gun time.
