I went.
It was a fantastic shoot. Lots and lots of rounds downrange.
Really fun stages.
I think the the top round count was 40 odd.
Brian and his crew really know how to put on a match.
Your namesake with one L won the gun.

It was amazing!!! So much fun! Brian and crew did a fantastic job! The stages were fun and challenging! I think there were quite a few of us that were glad it was just a fun match and didn't count for points! It was awesome to have more than 32 rounds per stage because it made you think outside the box!

Pics of the shoot. What a blast!!
I had to leave on holidays right after the shoot. Sorry to be posting this after the fact but I have to say it was the most fun I have had in a while. Met some great shooters and got to shoot with old friends as well. It was fun but as has been mentioned, you really had to think about what you were going to do ie., 42 rounds, Virginia Count, seven targets, 3 passes. All while dismantling an IED on your hands and knees.
The Afghan ZigZag was a blast, walking on beams in a zig zag while engaging all kinds of steel and the 6 verboten steel B-zone targets hidden at the end were a blast. As was discussed: What other sport has a start position sitting on the John talking on a cellphone? You had to flush it to open the door and then engage a lot of steel and paper in a hurry. Lots of fun and laughs on these stages. One of the quickest stages involved a start position over a bowl hurling until the beep started things. Well come on, it was billed as a Red Neck shoot!
There was so much steel some of us forgot which one activated the movers! Ah well, it was still fun. It was nice to see things like SOF's in action. They even started some swingers. Since it was a politically incorrect shoot anyway, we had the dreaded Texas Star to contend with!
There was also a stage with Charging Bad Guys from 2 to 25 meters away and lots of steel in between. Start position was kneeling with an AK in your hands. Another fun start was in a boat, hands on oars. You had to engage a target in the boat before you could get out and engage everything else. I understand the boat is now a flower garden for Connie.
Brian and the Handgun Club also put on a free salmon BBQ Saturday evening. They even gave away a CZ Shadow, just for showing up and shooting. I kind of hope the Nationals are in Newfoundland next year so we can do this again.
