Lone Wolf Glock lowers

I have one of the Lone Wolf lowers. The lower looks good but I haven't put the LPK into it yet. I just ordered a complete RRA 9mm upper for it and Questar will be modifying the bolt before they ship it.

Oh cool, they will modify bolts. :)

^ I would like to know that info too.

No problems loading 9mm into a .40 mag, other than maybe rounds falling out?

Possibly interested in doing a .40 or .357 upper, but what bolt would be required? Mod a 9mm boltface?

It is correct that the feed lip width on the 40S&W Glock mags is enough to work with unmodified bolt, however, we found that the rifle would NOT function reliably using the 40S&W magazines.

We did not do a lot of testing of that setup however we were getting double feeds and misfeeds using the 40S&W magazine that we tested... so we gave up and moved on.

The 9mm magazines had little if any issue... we had one with an older style follower that did on occassion misfeed the last round in the magazine... though with round nose/ball ammo we had no problems whatsoever.

We found the best combination was a 9mm Glock mag (newer follower was best), using 9mm ball ammo... ran like a charm.

Colt 9mm AR's with Colt mags do. On some drop in mag blocks (the permanent ones), you remove the bolt catch and then reinstall it once the block is in. There is also a 9mm bolt catch you can install on the regular drop in mag blocks, but reviews seem mixed on these.

How about .40 Glock mags, and simply re-chambering the barrel to .357 SIG?
Then you get the best parts of both.

I am VERY interested in this idea ...
it just so happens I have lots of G22 mags, and 1000 rds of .357 SIG factory ammo.

I know it is a lot of like buying the truck, cause you have a set of tires in the garage,
but still ...

PS: do you require a special 9MM hammer for this setup??
Or can you modify a standard 5.56 hammer, or one of the RRA 2 stage match hammers??

9mm hammer for unramped bolt, regular rounded top hammers like the DPMS for ramped bolts.

I have the same thoughts about doing a .357Sig with a barrel I have.

Sigger69,
thanks for your prompt reply.

So where did you get the .357 SIG AR barrel?
Or,
more likely,
where could one get a 9 mm AR barrel rechambered to .357 Sig??

I've been thinking about ordering a .357 SIG reamer for my very own,
just for this project
[ Joe D doesn't have a .357 SIG reamer, neither does MDC ...
maybe Gunnar?? ]
thanks

I have a 9mm stainless barrel which would need to be reamed.

The bolt face would also need to be machined for the .40 case.
