Hey,

Looking to add a 9mm AR to the collection. Since I own a glock and have 6 mags already for it , seems like the logical choice for me.

It says that it accepts most 9mm uppers and some mods may be required, can anyone elaborate on this.

Should I get this product?

It takes regular 9mm AR uppers, but the bolt will have to be machined. I believe Questar offers this service...check on AR15.com...there are a few threads detailing exactly what has to be done.

Most 9mm AR uppers the bolt is cut on the underside to fit 9mm AR magazines. Because the feed lips of the 9mm AR magazine are wider apart than on a Glock 9mm magazine most unmodifed bolts won't fit through the space between the Glock magazine lips and won't pickup the rounds properly and cycle.

That means you have to slightly narrow the material on the underside of the 9mm AR bolt.... narrow enough for the bolt to pass between the feed lips of the glock 9mm magazine.

There were some threads on this about a year ago on AR15.com

The cuts can be done with a MILL or even using a dremel by hand carefully.

If done properly it doesn't ruin the bolt... the bolt and upper will still work with a 9mm AR style lower and magazine.

Thanks Guys.

Mark, what does this service cost to do? I am not going to try and do this myself. The lower shouldnt be a problem though right.

sorry to revive this thread, but does anyone have a pic of a bolt properly modified for the Lone Wolf lower - I'm trying to visualize what part is milled.
