Long awaited arrival of non-corrosive 7.62x39 ammo!

Ah damn, does that mean we get charged the full 13% tax to Ontario now?

Ooooooo-weee. Last year at this time I bought a 1000 round case of Dominion for $282.49, according to my purchase history at CanAm, or 28-cents a round. Today I paid $451.99 for 1200, or 38-cents a round.

Ah well, I need to keep the Vz.58 warm with something.

Thanks CanAm for bringing this in!

It is cheaper to purchase. The extra cleaning is enjoyable to some.

Not me....I'd be spending all my time cleaning guns! I want to run at least 1000 rounds through an SKS before cleaning.

There are plenty of other retailers selling corrosive, so that option is open to anyone that wants it. :)

I like to clean after range trips regardless if I shoot corrosive or not.. Just part of the routine that was taut to me when introduced to shooting sports.

I'm new to the 7.62x39 ammo game. I have a cz527 and have used barnaul ammo because I have no desire to use corrosive in this gun. The lacquered cases start to gum-up the chamber when warm. Are these copper washed cases the same or are these cases uncoated? If uncoated, it appears this would be the best option for my particular gun.

Yeah, lots of guys do, but most that subscribe to that aren't at the range very often and/or going through that much ammo. Everyone has different priorities. Bottom line is if you are going to clean after every range session anyway, may as well shoot corrosive...But that doesn't mean that others wont' pay a bit extra to not have to clean as often.

I'm one of them, and this price for newly manufactured, non corrosive is very fair. I suspect that in a few years corrosive ammo will dry up, anyway, as I assume that nobody is making it anymore (but I really don't know)

If the price keeps going up, you can start buying cases of corrosive and just pick up a "new" SKS every time you go to the range. Disposable firearms IS the future!

You make it sound like there is a endless supply of SKS. I forget where I read approx 40% of surplus ammo and guns go to Africa to conflict zones. I know it's just sarcasm since it's not practical.
Like the Lee Endfield these will dry up. Get it while it's there to get.
I can't think of one firearm or ammo type that hasn't gone up in price, including surplus
