Yup. Steel core and steel jackets too.

This Norinco 7.62x39mm shoots shoots well and is more accurate than Barnaul in all of my SKS. Groups t8ghten for 4-6 inches to 2-3 inches. I would buy this ammo again for sure.

Ran 400 rounds of this through my SKS in a few hours, was a little bit dirty at the end but nothing bad. Had one fail to eject. Great ammo overall, for the price.

The core is mild steel. No special penetrative qualities at all.
