Complete rig in the chest. As new. 1945 manufacture, 90L series.
What would a set like this be worth these days?

$79.95 plus shipping, is the latest catalogue I have on them.

(Sorry! Could not resist! If you get it, I do hope you will grace us with photos!)

It's only worth what people are willing to pay for it. Marstar had two for sale this summer. One for around 6K and the other for 7K. Depends on a lot of things.

Yes, $79.95. That's what I paid for an unissued one in 1968. How times have changed!
Owner was thinking of asking $6,000. I suggested that might be a bit light. Have heard of them selling for somewhat more. One of these is too rich for my blood these days, although I suppose I could sell a few Rosses to come up with the funds.
This one is from an estate. Looks to have been purchased back when, and has stayed in the crate since. As new, all matching, complete including the sling. Scope case is the rubberized canvas version.
It is most certainly one of the ones from the batch imported in the 60s.

There was one just bought a couple of weeks ago with no accessories, just scope/mount and rifle all matching in new condition at 8500.00

This is an amazing package deal for 6000$, but same for me...too expansive for my bank account...

Hi tiriaq,

I think there's some good advice in this thread, but I'm really amazed at how high these rifles are valued.

It's interesting that there's so many of them we see available. I would think any milsurp in 6k to 12k price range would be a lot rarer than an enfield sniper. I suppose they are just what sells best here North of the border, even if 1945 dated.

For the same price range, it's still possible to pick up a much rarer original K98k sniper rifles out of the U.S.

Not that many of these were made by Long Branch. Canadian made rifle and scope .....

And Yes .... Pictures would be great!

The money for these rifles are just outlandish. I guess they will only keep going up in value from here though. I wish I had an older collector in the family who bought one of these when they were affordable back in the day...

The hyper inflation on these rifles is as bad as the hyper inflation on Garands or land in the Yukon during the Gold Rush. The value is being bumped up by speculation - I would be interested to know how many of these individuals making comments actually own a T sniper? (I only make this statement because I do have one in the collection)

Longbranch are the most valuable of T snipers (due to the Canadian origin, likelihood of a matching scope/mount, and limited production numbers).

Value will always depend on condition and whether the rifle has all the goodies (for BSA's this even comes down to Bino's etc.)

WWII dated rifles will often have a small premium as well.

Between friends these rifles will sell with a transit chest and scope rig for as little as 2k

British rifles will start at fair marked value for 3.5-7k (people will ask more but notice I said 'fair' market value).

Longbranch fair marked value 4-8K (again 'fair' market value).

Have these sets sold for more? Yes. But any fool can part with their money.

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Took me several try's to sell my No4 MkT and it was very much a fair price in as much less than what I had into it. Where as I had a beat up Ariska sniper that sold in hours and a FRF1 that sold in seconds and at a very exuberant cost. But with some double rifles being sold at a quarter mil plus who knows. People try to compare US cost to canadian cost. You really should stop. If it's at auction if you pay 2000 well there's probably a 15-30 per cent auction fee. Shipping to an authorized FFL and then your import costs and of course shipping again. I guess it really depends how bad you want it and how much cha Ching is in your wallet

1999 called...they want their prices back. These days you would be very lucky to get a LB sniper and scope with no accessories for the top end of that price range you have listed.

When I heard of one selling for over the 10K mark, I thought it was just a quirk in the price and the market would re-adjust. But it would seem the LB snipers have been steadily showing up, and continually seeing that price or better, especially the 45 dated ones. Guys keep saying the bubble is going to burst, and yet the prices keep staying up there.

Price depends on completeness of the kit and condition. Here in Southern Ontario Brits are selling $6 -7 K matching with sling, scope can and transit chest. Long Branch Rel going for $10 -15K. At a recent gunshow a 1945 with a force matched scope, Brit transit chest and repro scope tin went for $12.5k. Rifle and scope were "kosher"..bracket was a "Roger Payne". I don't see these selling for less as market dries up. Mismatched or incomplete will sell below these prices. Ron
