Long Branch No.4T

Guess I bought at the right time. L42A1 in the transit case while it was still on the boat!
At the same time a L39A1 and L59A1
Have three No4Mk1 T's, one being a trials rifle:)

It's only worth what people are willing to pay for it. Marstar had two for sale this summer. One for around 6K and the other for 7K. Depends on a lot of things.

Marstar had:

A Brit set, I think it was 6K.

A LB rifle, with British scope and bracket, and thus non matching. I think it was at $9500 last I saw.

The hyper inflation on these rifles is as bad as the hyper inflation on Garands or land in the Yukon during the Gold Rush. The value is being bumped up by speculation - I would be interested to know how many of these individuals making comments actually own a T sniper? (I only make this statement because I do have one in the collection)

Looks like a lot of people posted here that know nothing about T snipers and Have never owned one; let alone multiples
Have you guys been fibbin' me all these years ? :)
For the record, I just turned down 12.5 K for my LB kit 2 weeks ago

I need a Maltby and an Enfield Trials.

I suppose I could also ask for a 1941 Savage, but then it gets so complicated looking for a 1942 + 1943 BSA...

And then where do you stop...a 1931& 32& 33& 35 trials?

Several customers have imported these from the US through us. Price range seems to be 6500-9500 USD

Well, I paid $3500 for my BSA in October 2014 - all matching minus the MM scope (typical for Brits).
It came with a transit chest, sling and matching scope can

Another gent in AB bought two at an estate sale for around the 4k value.

Marstar last December had a Longbranch around the 8-9k range and would have gone cheaper to a serious buyer.

There are two T snipers for sale under 4k without transit cases as well.

So despite AB oil money maybe central fools like to part with their money too easily.

I paid $3000 for a complete Long Branch sniper 2 years ago...

Enfield snipers (and other types) quite regularly sell for much less than the experts say...and sometimes much less than advertised.

Average condition Savage scopeless T's with added mismatched scopes/mounts are out there in the 3k range, and Brit mismatched for 3-4K but hardly in the same league as a new condition scope/mount/rifle matching LB with same matching scope case and transit case as was the Op's starting thread.

I'll but a No4 T sniper for 3k, anybody?
PS Im serious

This may be a silly question, but as I'm looking at a M/M no4 T, I thought I'd ask. So with all the mismatched scopes to rifles probably done at time of import has anyone tried getting in contact via forum to possibly match up some of these M/M rifles here in canada? Like I said may be a stupid question but I'm curious.

Yes, go have a look at "angel's matching service" over on milsurps.com.

Prices are all over the map for a few reasons:

- Relatively uncommon - hence there isn't a firm commercial price established by stores/dealers (e.g. SKS - pretty much $150-250 Canada wide in every town).
- They were once a Milsup rifle and purchased relativley dirt cheap - many of the original owners just want to make a dollar off their original purchase price and have limited or 'no' knowledge on the rifle/value. Hence you see them going for cheap (many out of estate sales). You see this with lots of milsups that are not common at shows etc. Someone has a unique old rifle and asks a price they think is fair. A person mentioned that they picked up a rifle for $350 in this thread and asked if that sets the value? The answer is yes - well - kind of.... Any rifle is valued at what it actually sells for. So the bottom end purchase price for that rilfe is $350 but like many rifles there is a range of prices. Hence T Snipers do sell for $2500-12,000 which is equal to their value. Finn Mosin Nagants are a great comparisson. They were surplus at a similar time period. If a guy keeps their eyes open, one can be had for $125-150 but most dealers and collectors will ask $350-600
- Highly collectible in the right circles - there are some dedicated collectors that know the true history of these rifles and as a result are willing to pay top dollar. There is certainly a demand - similar to M1 Garands - everyone wants one hence prices ranging currently from $1200-3000 on most sites/dealers - but $500-750 examples are still out there.

prices sure seem to be all over the map with this gun why is that?
