Long Branch Production

I have been trying to research the Long Branch production mainly the 1950 years but haven't been able to find any descriptive articles other than as mentions that they were made in Canada. Is there a good source on the Internet for Long Branch or do I need to find a book?

Both Skennerton and Stratton put out good books on the subject. Skennerton has a lot of data and goes into a lot of depth and history.
"A century of lee-metford & lee enfield rifles and carbines" is the definitive publication on the subject

Skennerton's book The Lee Enfield Story covers Long Branch enfield rifle production in detail. Great book on the subject, but the book has been out of print for a whlile now. I would be surprised if this info were online in the same detail.

There were approximately 50,000 No.4s made at the Long Branch factory between 1949 and 1950. Serial number ranges were between 91L and 96L. This was the first batch made since production ended in mid/late 1945. 1946 only saw the production of C No.7s. There was a brief production run at the factory between 1955 and 1956 but this was only receivers and some other bits, not full rifles, meant as replacements on older rifles.

There were also Cno7s made with 1951 and 1953 dates. As well, it's accepted that the last LongBranch snipers in the 90L8### serial range were manufactured in 1946, although all the receivers are 45 dated.
