I recently traded a set of issue boots for a sporterized longbranch. The barrel is intact and nothing has been cut or drilled. I would rather get an original stock than have a sporter. I know the bolt and receiver have the same number, but bluing is pretty light. I know ZIP about Lee Enfields other than having shot and owned several over the years and would like to know if its likely to find wood to fit the rifle. I am willing to put a few bucks into it to have a full stocked rifle.

Thanks

For the record, I had an awful experience with numrich, garbage wood with some pieces stain wiped off, others not, and they look chemically stripped with little caution.

last batch out of Numerich was rough, I've gottten some good handguards, but the last forestock was off an Ishpore No4 refit, and as described above roughly handled and chemically stripped and scraped.

Check the headspace before you do anything. Even when the serial numbers match, the bolt head may have been changed some time in the last 60 years.
