Say guys just go back from a fine duck shoot down at Forrestburg on the cooling ponds. Shot some huge mallards, 19 to be exact. Windyer than hell but the gunning was great. FS

Sounds like fun. One of these years I'm like to take my old Win 1200 out for waterfowl, but in this day and age will the old 2 3/4" 12ga pump still work? I mean, shucks, it isn't even camo! Seems like eveyone who hunts ducks & geese uses some sort of grassland/wheatfield/corn plantation fancy Duracoat/Teflon paintjob semiautomatic chambered in 12ga 3 1/2" Magnum and using Super High Powered HeavyShot shells. I'd feel a tad inadequite with my lowly outfit. And not to mention my poor partner and his bolt action shotgun...perhaps we'd better stay home...alone...shunned...

Frick em, I use my 870Express, and 2-3/4" factory fodder (just pattern it first) regular price steel loads on ducks all the time, wait till there in range and if it patterns decently you will bring the birds to bag. FWIW:I shoot my fair share of geese with 2-3/4" 1-1/8OZ #2 steel 1450fps, no problem, again decoy better, get em close and make sure it patterns.
