Does anyone have any recommendations for a scope for a Mosin 91/30, or are there any scopes that I should avoid?

I have a straight-bolt Mosin, so I figured I'd try a scout scope. I have to work to a budget too, but I'd be ok to pay around $150.

I'm still relatively new to shooting so this is a learning exercise for me. I don't hunt and would be range shooting up to 500m.

Cheers

Quite a few people run a cheap $50-60ish AIM scope from amazon on their mosins. You can get the required mount from Amazon too if you don't already have it.

The kit from amazon runs 125$ shipped. You have to remove the rear sight to mount it.
Cant comment on durability as I am still building my mosin.

I've got one of the AIM ler scopes on a Mosin and I'm very surprised how durable its been. Plenty of recoil with that 54r and I've held zero with plenty of rounds down the pipe.

I got one of the AIM 2-7x32 with the 30mm tube scopes on an enfield sporter I'm quite fond of it, one of the best things you can get for a cheap scout or cheap mosin project. The glass is better then it should be for the price, much better than that mueller I had.

i got the aim sports 2x7x42mm scout scope with the 30 mm tube, paid like 120$ on amazon last year before the dollar tanked, i don't know how much it is now but it has held up few hundred rounds...i got the brass stacker scout mount off amazon as well. or check ebay...solid stuff... accurizing kit will work wonders and a trigger job....you cna do that yourself
