Hi,is there someone try shooting with that kind of instalation.
Compared to the regular scope mount.
I know this is the best way to use a scope on milsurp without ruined the rifle, but is it accurated and easy to aim with it.thank for looking:

This isn't necessarily true. It depends on the specific mount for the specific rifle. There are mounts for some milsurps that put the scope in the more normal position, i.e. right over the receiver for the normal eye relief, without requiring permanent alterations like drilling and tapping.

However, the quality of the scope will affect accuracy more than the difference between conventional or long eye relief. Long eye relief makes it easier for most people to shoot with both eyes open and this will help with quick shots. Most people will find it harder to use a long eye relief scope as magnification is increased.

The biggest difference in scopes is the magnification and ease of viewing the target.

LER scopes tend to be low mag and have a small field of view. So this can increase the aiming error. compared to open sights, big improvement.

Compared to a 36X in the conventional location, no comparison.

Hi. It depends on the rifle. Scoping a milsurp that wasn't made for one can ruin its value. I'm guessing you're thinking about a 'scout mount'. One of Jeff Cooper's silly ideas. Wrecks the balance and isn't exactly easy to get used to.
"...the quality of the scope will affect accuracy..." A scope will not make a rifle that isn't accurate already, shoot better. A scope only lets you see the target better.
"...easier for most people to shoot with both eyes open..." Nonsense.

A scope lets you see the target better. It won't change the inherent accuracy of the rifle it is used on, but a poor quality scope may introduce problems that will prevent the user shooting accurately regardless of what the rifle could do in ideal circumstances.

Trials I saw demonstrated that most of the participants found it easier to use an optical sight with both eyes open when the eye relief was longer than that typical for scopes on hunting rifles. (The sight was 4x magnification.)

Basically this. I use one and I find it a short-medium range (500m and under) scope. At longer ranges, though, I find it has no speed advantage over a conventional because of it's location. You still have to line up the scope and most LER have simple reticles because of the small field of view. Definitely easier to use with both eyes open; Like a reflex sight with magnification. This my personal experience however, so ymmv.

EDIT: For your question, yes, it is easy to aim with and accurate within reason. Get a good one or chance it with a cheap one. Right now, I'm chancing it with a cheap one. Holding so far, but the reticle illumination is buggered.

An Israeli 7.62 Mauser means you have a Mauser 98, right? I think I see your problem. There are no-drill&tap mounts for various milsurps, but I can't remember any for the Mauser98 that put the scope in the conventional position over the action. So I suppose you are thinking of a mount that attaches to the barrel in place of the rear sight?

hello, that kid who took place of the rear sight, long releaf scope. Also i founded this on the net from itali, look good
