Well I scoped my mosin using a brass stacker mount and a bushnel banner long eye relief scope. I took it to the range today and here are the results.

this is my 50 meter group, First round was low so I had to bring the poi up a bit. fired a few groups before I got where I wanted to be.

This is my 100 meter group, Im not the best shot but the poi is high. I plan on zeroing this rifle at 200 meters.

this is 200 meters , one group I really sh@t the bed on. It was windy but I tried. the end result is that this is a fun little project that is easy to change back if you ever want to sell the rifle. The ammo I was using was 1970's czech surplus.

Quite honestly I think you did great at 200m, you and the rifle. Group one looks to be around MOA, that's very good for a Mosin and even a good hunting rifle. Group two looks a little over 2 MOA which is a dead deer any day. Does the scope get in the bolts way at all?

The black circle on my target is about 3 inches. The mount the scope all I had to do was remove the 2 pins in the rear sight ( dont forget to save them) and install the brass stacker over it. Line up the mount with the 2 holes where the pins were and install 2 bolts. Tighten every thing down and I use clear nail polish instead of lock tight on the bolts. Make sure everything is level and mount what ever optic you want. The eye relief on this bushnell is 12 inches, not quiet enough. 16 inches would be ideal. At x3 mag its ok to shoot but at x9 its like looking down a soda straw. The bolt does not get in the was of the optic, you cant slam the bolt around but my bolt isint sticky so there is no issues. I should make a video of the mount and bolt so people can see the operation of the bolt in relation to the optic.
I did this little project just to see how my mosin would shoot. It wasent expensive. I paid 169.00 for the rifle at the the gas station in pembroke ( sorry i forgot the name ) I paid about 60 for the mount and 99.99 for the scope at the gun dealer. I wasent going to spend a lot of money on this build. Im sure this will make a nice little deer combo and I might even do this mod on my m44. With better ammo im sure it would shoot much better.

Congrats on the grouping.

I had the exact same set-up as you, right down t othe scope... that's hilarious.

However, I have since changed over to another Brass Stacker mount...

Took me 5 shots to get it on paper and zeroed in. The deer better watch out !!

Perkins is the only gas station I know of in Pembroke that sells firearms. Nice looking gun!

You don't actually need that scope mount on a Mosin.

If you remove the rear sight completely; There is a 3/8" dovetail underneath.

You can install scope rings like these directly to it.

if the dovetail is tapered those dont work....i have the brass stacker setup...can get on amazon....more $$$ now than last fall when i got mine $120 iirc.....cleaned threads and everything and locktite....i know pics or it didnt count...but had mine out a week ago & i shot what looks similar to the olympic symbol touching on my visi colour target...pleased and with archangel stock and timney trigger drop in....big treat to shoot.... i have the aim sport 2x7 30mm tube 42mm objective also was around 120$ amazon.....great low cost setup for better performance
