The great part about the shooting community is most people are excited to help and share! When I started shooting black powder I bought a rifle and showed up to a shoot. I was taught the best methods and either loaned, gifted, or sold any missing essentials. I still shoot my smoke poles better than my other guns because of the variety of targets and shooting positions. My first black powder shoot I think I hit 4 out of 25ish targets on the trail and had a great time! So just head out and get shooting and have fun, people will show you better and worse ways to do stuff, and let you try gear to see what you like and don't! Sometimes you just have to laugh about how bad you miss!

Maybe other BC folks can share other local relevant clubs/organizations?
Thanks!
I'm a member at a local range and everyone I've met has been exactly as you describe, just haven't run into anyone shooting much 22 lr
