Long LAR-15 pistol magazine

I'd still like somone to make a slip on 'bottom' for the LAR mags similar but bigger than the ones that go on some of the 5 round bench rest mags.

Nope. Some of the 5 round mags have a solid (maybe hollow) fake bottom so they have the same size/shape as a 20 round mag. Something similar but sized for a 30 would be perfect so they fit in vests/carriers better.

Edit: Like this one but built for the shape of a 30 round body would be great.

Exactly! Maybe we should write to magpull to produce those product?:)

Sean @ Freedom Ventures attached 2.5" Alum Bar stock on the bottom of the mags to give them the same length as a 30rd mags.

I'm going with something lighter and going with ABS plastic blocks...

Yep, this is what I did.

-They allow more positive seating. (I also run an Arredondo mag well)
-Easier grip on the mag when using belt-mounted pouches.
-I can use the mags as a mono-pod for prone shooting.
-The mags fall out easier with the extra weight - I'm an IPSC shooter, I'm not going to go reaching for the mag to pull it out - time is of the essence!!!
-The raw aluminum makes them easy to find in the brush / muck of an IPSC stage.

I just went to my local metal supply house, bought 4’ of aluminum bar stock and picked up a non-ferrous blade for my chop saw and voila - AR-15 Pistol base pads.
