.45 Auto. The only 1911. Anything else is sacreligous.

Tried tuning the extractor on my Kimber as it spits brass all over. Otherwise its perfect. Was thinking a longer ejector would help bring the brass in closer. Seems to me that's what the guys did in the old days.

Long ejectors used to be all the rage, then they fell into disfavour due to the possibility of hitting the primer during an unload. I don't know if this ever happened, but the safety gurus killed the idea.
I have one in a Series '70 Gold Cup and it doesn't clear as readily as do my 1911's with standard ejectors. I keep an eye on it.

I think it may be one of the myths like the possibility of a Series '70 1911 going "Bang!" if dropped. In a recent magazine article on the 1911 myths, this was tested and proven wrong.
