Hey guys, thought I'd have the best luck here.

I'm in the GTA and me and my friends are getting a little tired of the 200 yard ranges around here (plus 300 at EESA but it's a long drive for not a ton of extra reach). We don't mind making it a weekend trip but is there anywhere we can shoot 1000+ yards as civilians in S. Ontario?

Thanks!

Is the Mons on CFB Borden? I can't find much detail about it right now. How do us normies get to shoot on a military range? (just recreationally, not in a match)

Through the ORA matches. There is no walking onto the range shoot other than through sanctioned events. Other than finding a generous farmer or driving north until you get into shield rock and crown land, that is your only option.

The NCRRA in Ottawa at Co-naught Ranges might be holding a Introduction to F class shooting day in May. on C range 900 m =984.25 yards

May guess would be yes, regardless of which association (DCRA, ORA or NCRRA) is using the DND range at Connaught, the template is a DND requirement. I can ask them (Des or Keith B) tomorrow at the AGM and I will post back Sat evening their answer.

BTW, the SPRA at Nokomis SK is the only range that goes past 1000 in Canada that I know of, we are bermed out to 1200 yds and max distance at Nokomis is 1640 yds from the gate to the targets, but no can be beyond your firing point except the guys manning the targets in the butts. And nothing bigger than 375 there too, no 50's
