long range decision Tikka T3 vs Savage Savage 10,11 or 12 308

Jerry - Can you explain what you mean by "dumb down in production" means? I cant seem to find a great deal of how an accustock is different then a regular stock other than it seems to infer that is it a bedded stock.

I have noticed some of the Savages dont have a accustock but seem to be in their precision rifle lineup. Secondly - Does anyone notice Savage rilfes go on sale at certain times. If so how much do the heavy barreled 308's usually go for when on sale

the simplest way to explain is get a rifle, take out the action bolts and see for yourself.

I am sure there is an engineer(s) somewhere figuring out how to make brakes fail without trace on a bean counter(s) car.

A good idea that was "engineered" to the point where it didn't work like it should have? Give us an internal skeleton to improve the rigidity and then remove material elsewhere making the improvement hardly better than the original stock?

Jerry,

Early brake failure was not required in North America. The general public were sold on STOP signs whilst the rest of the civilized world used the highway code.

When they got away with that little beauty, they continued with the old oil change every 5,000 KILOMKETRES. While the same cars would be sold in Europe with 15,000 MILES plus oil change service limits.

I saw a way in so I thought I would point that particular anomaly out.

Build a great sports car then put in truck bench seats and use the cheapest tires you can find.

There is so much WRONG in the final product you wonder how it could have been approved.

The concept is fantastic and you can see where some great ideas were designed. But whoever controls that CNC program dumbed it down for cost savings and got rid of so much of the GOOD.

I love most things Savage but this is not a product I can recommend.

The orig action and stock set up is BETTER.

So if Im hearing you correctly you are suggesting getting a Savage 10 without the Accustock and simply getting a different stock?

While we are on the subject of what about the Thompson Center Icon WS. I dont hear a lot about them on the precision board so Im wondering about anyone experience.
