Can you have that light a trigger? The DCRA rulebook seemed to be saying 500 grams minimum pull, unless I misread.

I have my heart set on an xit stock as well. I have a barrel and action on order right now and I bought some 85.5 Bergers and some 88 hornady eldm to try out.

What powder are you using? And what kind of speed are you getting with that long barrel?

That’s the way to build a rifle! Don’t be afraid to run that .223 out to 1000 yards. One of Canada’s top TR shooters does very well at 1000 yards with HER .223 pushing 90 gr bullets.

Varget, With 80.5 gr 2880 fps, 85.5 grain 2760 fps.

I’m using varget with 80.5 and the 185 juggernaut as well. It seems to be the magic f/tr powder. I was wondering if there might be a different powder that would work better with the long tube.

How many grains of powder are you using? I was expecting it to be faster, but if that’s where it shoots good than that’s where it is I guess.

I am reluctant to say what load level I am using out of caution. Each shooter should do their own load development on their own specific rifle, taking into consideration barrel length, bullet jump, chamber freebore, etc while carefully watching for excessive pressure signs.

Lots of fellas are going to N140 because they are having trouble finding Varget.
