Things that I learned shooting long range. Hypervelocity like stingers work great at close range up to a 100 meters, but not at 300 meters. Standard velocity worked best.
You can use a ballistics calculator to get you somewhere close to the target, but a first round hit is just luck. you basically adjust for shooting conditions each time you are out, wind, atmosheric pressure temperature all have an effect on where the bullets go.
While you can not have too much mechanical accuracy, its your skill level in reading the conditions that will have the greatest effect on your group
