Long Range Precision Rifles

Which one is more accurate out to 1000 yards...And is 308 ok or should I use 300 wm

Of course I'm biased :D (selling a 300 wmag) but I found the 300winmag to be easier to shoot at 1000m. The only reason I can find is that firing a heavier bullet you're less punished by the wind.
Same day, same conditions, my group in 308 was more than double than the 300 Wmag one.
 
and more punished by recoil and cost !

.308 works quite well at 1000 if you do your part.

Alot of good shooters with really, really precision rifles shoot 1/4" (1/4 min.) groups at 100.
A 1" group @ 100 = 5" group @ 500 = 10" group @ 1000
Now picture a 1/4" group at 100, this = 2.5" group at 1000 yards according to the math.
I've never seen an off the shelf rifle shoot THAT well.
Keep in mind you have to have the experience/talent/ability to produce that yourself too.
