long range shooting clinic (edmonton area)

I would love to hear more about it? Im newer than new to this but Im not afraid to jump in with both feet. I am mostly interested in longrange shooting&hunting but at this point any knowledge is more than helpful. Whats the cost of a course as mentioned above?

VERY interested. I'm away at work more often then not so the date would be a deal breaker for me. Price, location, necessities, and whatnot are flexible.

Also just noticed this was a very old post. Sorry.

Still very interested. Trying to teach yourself to shoot decent groups isn't as easy as I lead myself to believe.

As the title says a few of the local long range shooters are thinking of putting on a long range shooting clinic. we will have a couple experienced shooters talk about everything to do with long range. i have talked to GLEN TAYLOR and he will be there to give a introduction into f-class shooting and everything to do with it. we have a nice indoor heated shooting facility to 200m and the possibility to go to 800m. this is just to see who might be interested so let us know and we will get a date and time.

Hi Guys, I know this may be way late but I just noted some activity on this thread so here goes.
I believe the best thing to do is let you know about the AFRA New Shooter intro days held at Homestead Range June 3rd and July 8th, 2017. This is the perfect scenario to get your feet wet in both long range prep and competition type formats. Usually the first portion of the day is spent getting zeros and a quick introdution to MOA and scope knobs for those needing some informal instruction. Shooting is usually from 400m with the group split between the firing point and the butts (pulling targets). One relay then switch. Same thing again at 800m. During the day, there'll be plenty of discussion and one on one to clarify and illuminate what's involved by many of the competing members of the AFRA. Tons of fun, enlightening and best of all it's free. We've had quite a number of previous attendees get wholely involved after attending one of these.
More info at www.albertarifle.com/fullbore.
Hope this helps
Cheers

The fullbore link doesn't seem to work?
Found the website but the 2016 schedule info is on it but not the 2017?

The 2017 schedule is a sticky on the top of this competition section.

There are 2 new shooter days.

I don't know who's running them but I can vouch that there are a lot of good folks at the APRA willing to help out.

Just an update for all.
I attended the AFRA New Shooter day on July 8th and had a great time out there and learned a lot.
I used my Savage 10TR 308 and Sightron glass and managed to get on target quickly.
Many thanks to RSO Bill Watts and match director Max Anabo for all the help and setting up and running the event, much appreciated!
