Are there any long range shooting facilities in Southern Ontario. I live in London Ontario and belong to Crumlin Sportsmen Association. They only have a rifle range going to 200 yards and I would like to start shooting long range with a .223 Remington 700P. Are there any places to shooting ranges about 500 to 600 yards in Southern Ontario? Thanks in advance.

Cedar Springs, west of London 15 minutes off the 401 near Blenheim. About 1 1/4 hours drive from London. Out to 600 yards. See the Ontario Rifle Association for details or PM me.

EESA just ouside of Aylmer has a 300m (~ 328yd) range. It's not long range by any stretch of the imagination but it's a bit better than 200yds and closer to home which generally means more trigger time.

I really do wish we had a longer range more easily available out in this area though. Maybe when I win the lottery.

Any hydro lines on crown land?

Most power lines in SW Ontario run across farmers fields. No allot of Crown land around that would support a rifle range for long range shooting. You need 2900 meters for a danger area.

thertes a good strech up where i sometimes go for bear that has about 2-3 km of clear hydro cut thats crown, at the end i shoot from is lower then the top of the crest at the farthest "Safe shot" distance about 1 km so your esently shooting down int oa valley type thing with a natural safe back stop.
