Is there anywhere in Quebec to shoot long range?
The only ranges I have found are only 200 yards, and I would like to shoot 300,400, 500 and maybe 600, does anyone know any place that it can be done? I would be even willing to drive to southeast Ontario if there is one close to montreal! Any info is appreciated.
Thanks

long range near quebec

for the last 4 years, i shoot at the cfb valcartier ,100 to 600 yards at the batoche range. If you want more info ,you can go to the P.Q.R.A.(province fo quebec rifle association) web site for more . trs.

I'd like to resurrect this thread and narrow the focus down a little bit; namely, are there any long ranges (over 300 yards/metres) within about an hour of Montreal? (Valcartier/Ottawa are too far for me).

Is the range at St-Bruno done with renovations and is it available for practice to the general public, or is it only for competitions?

Under what circumstances does Club de Tir Pionnier allow shooting beyond their 300y range? The site is somewhat unclear on this.

Within 1 hour of Montreal you are out of luck. Farnham Military base has a 600m range but you need to be military to join. They shoot twice a month. The other option is to go to Valcartier military base and shoot at 600yds ( with the PQRA ).
They have not put any work to the St Bruno range which was the only 1000yd range in the Montreal area. My guess is that there won't be any money invested in this range unless we have a majority PC gov't.
Mansonville had a 1000yd range but it was closed down by the SQ.

Cub de tir Pionnier does not allow shooting over 200m.
They have a 800m lane, though, but it's for the sole use of military, police snipers and General Dynamics (ex-SNC Tech).
Forget about shooting over 200m in Montreal's area.

The ony chance I get to shoot long range, 300, 400, 500 meters, is during service condition matches at Connaught. I can only shoot bench at Granby at 200m. No prone allowed.

In Quebec, like the church did, keep them (the shooters) obedient and inept will reduce their capability of questioning (or rebelling) the powers that be.

Any of you fellow Quebecers (except sendero ;)) shoot along the Hydro lines around 2hrs drive away from Mtl ? If so, know any good areas to do so? Maybe in the Wentworth/Wentworth Nord area?

There is also a range down south near Napierville but it is also limited to 200 yds and of coarse no prone shooting allowed, pretty well the same thing that happened to Mansonville's 1000yd range due to the no sky law . The SQ has pretty well sqashed any hope of shooting prone or shooting at longer ranges with all of their bull#### regulations. The Lacadie range did at one time have a 300yd range but due to a stray bullet hitting a home some kilometers away the range was shut down and when it reopened the range was limited to 100yds, after the smoke had cleared from that incident it was revealed that the bullet that struck that home was fired on the day when the range was under Police only use and that was all that was ever heard of that incident! They have been trying to shut down that range for years since the land around it is desirable for developing and in fact has houses already built only yards away from it right now, it is only a matter of time till it shuts down. Getting it's 300 yd status back would be a fantastic boost to that club.
