As the title says I'm looking for some users feedback/ experience with tactical optics in this price range.

I know SWFA SS would most likely be my first choice based on all the internet positive reviews but unfortunately they aren't shipping to Canada.

So any advice or experience and model recommendation would be greatly appreciated.:)

I will be using the glass for shooting between 200-600yrds with a .308

Well I just have had mine for two weeks but I like the Vortex HST-1 4-16x44 VMR-1 MRAD. Clear, the zero stops seems to work well (only tested to 200 yards from 100 yard sight in) and the clicks are nice and crisp. Lifetime warranty as well.....

Previous scopes for me have been mostly Bushnell 3200 and Trophy but I do have a 4200 6-24x50 mildot that I do enjoy although I can't say much about the turret adjustments as I have only done "hold overs" with that one.

Thanks for your input, I do like the vortex viper line I had a chance to look through the glass at a local shop.

But it does seem to stretch the budget to the higher end of the budget if I can find one used in the exchange.

I recommend waiting a bit longer to get the funds. Once you start touching long distance you will come to appreciate that glass is equally as important as the firearm itself

Mine was $744.67 with tax...$659 pre tax. You just need to find a place have a no-tax sale and you are close to the $600 mark.

I also agree with the above, spend the extra on the optics...

Thanks for the input folks. After doing some research and some serious googling my first choice was vortex, 2nd was sightron and I tried for a used super sniper in the exchange... No luck unfortunately

Then I saw a great deal in the exchange for a sightron, not the model I was hoping for , but based on a lot of reviews seems like a well rated product.

But I will repost my thoughts after the range

I am surprised no one mention Sightron S2 big sky its slightly above your budget and you can't beat the glass but like many other said I would save a bit longer and get what you really want and don't compromise optics even if you really have to.

For few hundreds more I would suggest to take a serious look at their S3 series (30mm tube vs 1") I was told the S3 shares the same glass as the big sky except tube diameter which depends on how far are you shooting you might actually need the extra elevation adjustments for those extended range.
