Seeing as there is next to no pistol powders i was thinking of using some Longshot for 9mm. Anyone try this before? Going to be used with the Canpro RN 115g

Thanks!

Yup have the same loading values, thanks. Looking to see if anyone has tried it and if they liked it or not. But guessing not to many have. Haha

I'm thinking that is the go to powder for a lot of the PPC crowd shooting there PPC 9's. Not sure about the loading specifics tho.

Longshot is a great pistol powder if you are looking for maximum speed. I haven't used it in 9mm but I have in .40, 10mm and .357 mag.

Pretty much any "shotgun powder" like Longshot also has uses in handguns, a good thing for those of us that reload both and are dealing with shortages of "pistol powders".

I've just started reloading and working up some loads with LongShot and 124 and 147gr Campro bullets. For 124gr bullets, settled on 6.0gr of Longshot for std loads, and 7.2gr for a hot +P load. For 147 gr bullets, settled on 4.4gr for my IPSC loads. I've heard that Titegroup may be more consistent for my IPSC loads, so going to try working up so loads in that.

that is going to be loud and snappy, and not super fun to shoot. Look for a faster burning powder and some heavier bullets. 115gr are good if you want to work up a super light load (around or under 120 pf)

If you were close to me I would probably offer to trade for some titegroup, but with shipping, it wouldn't be worth it. Long shot is nice if you want to make some magnum type loads though.

Gotta ask...
Recent purchase?
If so, where?

I can't speak for the original poster, but I found some Longshot last Friday, at the south Edmonton Wholesale Sports.

I have a buddy who with his grandpa do a ton of shotgun reloading. He said he would sell me a 1lb of long shot so i can get some shooting and reloading done, since I am just starting out in this reloading game i cant say no!!

With a powder like longshot it'll be nearly impossible to do anything bad like double charge a case without noticing. You'll get all the performance you will need as well so you could be a lot worse off.
