I wouldn't be surprised if the Liberals forced back paper ATT's. They would love to keep moving the cheese.Mine expires in 2 weeks - I called the CFC to ask about the impending cluster f... and the nice lady said she was unaware of any changes, and as of right now, there isn't a LTATT to issue, even if I wanted one. I have a really bad feeling about this, and I'm pretty sure when they get around to screwing things up (I mean re-introducing the LTATT) we're all going to need a lot of lube, but it is what it is.
Nope pal is good to Oct 2016.thank tho.made me look lol
The Conservatives scrapped the LATT and ATT. Your RPAL/PAL (POL is also gone) is now also your ATT to any authorized/registered gun range.
I sometimes shoot at Federal Government DND ranges and couldn't bring any restricted firearms because the ATT doesn't apply, so now that the ATT is gone can I bring my restricted to the DND ranges?
The ATT was not scrapped by C-42.
What C-42 did do was to establish six locations that transporting Restricted Firearms between would become conditions of your RPAL. One of those locations for which an ATT is no longer needed is for CFO approved ranges. Military/DND ranges are not CFO approved ranges and an ATT is still required to transport Restricted Firearms to or from Military/DND ranges.
What are the 6 locations?
MY LTATT only lists two. Authorized range and border crossings. Licenced gun smith was deleted the last renewal.

WOW! I gained with this change.
What does this mean "From location of acquisition to home"?

so the LATT was for all intents and purpose scrapped for these 6 locations? DND ranges aside. (which actually baffles and defies any logic, the concrete butts and backstops are better than anything I've ever seen on a public/private rifle range.)WOW! I gained with this change.

Or they mailed you one, you can go to the post office and pick it up without an STATT.
Seriously? It's about time for that that one!
How about delivering to the PO?
Where is this all documented? Have a link?

The Order would require a Chief Firearms Officer to automatically issue, as a condition on the licence, and for specific reasons, an ATT when he or she approves the transfer (i.e. change in ownership) of a restricted or prohibited firearm. The effect of this change is to eliminate the requirement for an individual to separately apply for an ATT for certain transport activities, such as
- going to and from all CFO approved shooting clubs or ranges within an individual’s province of residence;
- taking a firearm home after a transfer (e.g. purchase at a gun store);
- going to and from the following:
a gunsmith; a gun show; a Canadian port of entry or exit; or a peace officer or a Chief Firearms Officer for verification, registration or disposal.
Seriously? It's about time for that that one!
