Long term ATT question?

Ok , just to clear things out. I'm a club member and planning to buy some handguns in the near future. So my question again is : can my club apply for a LATT before I own any restricted?

Thanks Jozsef

Not as far as I know.....

you need to purchase a restricted firearm first, you will get a temp ATT to take it home from the store

once you have a restricted firearm, you can then get your club to apply for your Long Term ATT

This is how it was for me, I am not sure if things have changed

Yes it is or at least it was an a$$ backwards way of doing things

In Ontario, you must own a restricted firearm before the CFO will grant you an ATT. When you buy your first restricted, you call the CFO for a short term ATT to get it home. Then you go to the permit director of your club to apply for a LTATT, which will usually expire when your RPAL does. I have noticed though, that the [Ontario] CFO has issued 6 month ATT's for some reason. Get after you permit director early! It can take the Ontario CFO 30 days to issue a LTATT.
Note also you can request a temporary/ short term ATT (STATT) by phone for a specific visit to the range before you get your LTATT.This can be faxed or mailed to you.
Note also, the Ontario CFO will not issue a LTATT to a DND range. Those folks who shoot at a DND range must call for a STATT for every visit.

The CPFO will say no. Their theory is that since you have no restricted firearms registered to you, you don't need an ATT.

Not sure if you actually need to do this, or will the place you purchased it from call and get the STATT for you instead...either way you will call or they will, someone has to

everything else written is same as what I said earlier, now I can see I was not far off....
