Been window shopping for Sniper variants lately (purely window shopping...)

I noticed there seems to be two variants of the Mounting options used on Long Branch Snipers. Once was the same type used on British No.4(T) but the other is very different. See Below.

Was there any time frame these were introduced? were they more or less common on Longbranch rifles? Were these only used with the Lymann Alaska scopes?

Id like to build a "Faux" T one day and would like to use this unique mount but would require a custom repro unless someone makes them in small amounts.

There were the lower mounts being produced about 15 or20 years back and available on ebay. I believe those have long dried up since then.
A complete Long Branch rifle with the no32 scope is somewhat rare and expensive. They were made in much smaller numbers than the British equivelents. The rifles with the Lyman Alaskan scopes or the rarer no 67 scopes are much, much harder to find. It is believed that the Lyman equipped rifles production was only about 350 and the no67 version was just 100.

There was a batch of 32TP scopes with rings that appeared on the surplus market some years ago. Out of the Netherlands. Rifles were scrapped, scopes sold off.
 
Hi LeeEnfield No. 4 Mk I. Three types of scopes were mounted on No. 4 Rifles by Long Branch. The first type was the No. 32
scope presently available on repro. There is another post evaluating the Repro No. 32 scopes on this site. Repro scope mountings are available on EBay complete with drill bits and taps. So all you need is a cheekpiece and they are repro available too on EBay. That is your best bet and you will have a usable rifle that won't kill your wallet.
The other two scopes are the Lyman Alaskan and the No. C67 Mk I. Both of these use similar but different Griffen and Howe mounting systems. There is a dealer in Ontario selling a No 4 original set up with the Lyman Alaskan for $28,000.00 if you want to sell your car and splurge unless you are a lottery winner. The C67 scopes are unheard of availability. Good luck. John
 
Just to clarify. I was asking about the mount in the above picture as it is quite different then the standard British mount

I'd say Griffon and Howe is the possible answer. They seem to still be making mounts and do make one that's similar, although completely solid.

The pic illustrates a No.4 rifle set up with the Lyman Alaskan scope. The only mounts officially used were a Griffin and Howe type that was special to the No.4. John
