on switzersauction.com there is a 1944 longbranch training rifle. Sale is I believe Sat, Aug 20.
Has full wood but different than anything I ever seen. Perhaps they are common? Do they actually work or are they just dummies.
Sorry I don't know how to post the link.

then there is the "wendy approved" rifle. The only metal bits on it are two pointed studs for sights. A slab of wood cut in the shape of a rifle. BUT it has the Canadien property stamp!

These projected a captive needle which punctured a paper target, allowing a "group" to be fired as a basic test of sight alignment, etc.
The LB device is much less common than a Swift. The Swift even is spring loaded to simulate recoil; don't know if the LB is. If this is complete in its chest with its accessories it is fairly unusual and is collectable.

The movable butt plate is so that if you do not pull the rifle tight to your shoulder it will not fire (release the pin into the target). The Swift and the LB training rifle came with a target stand and a series of targets showing different landscapes and scenarios. There was a private publication book done on the Swift and variants some years ago and if anyone is interested PM me and I can put you in touch with the author.

I have one of those that used to belong to someone named Cam Watson. I know this because he used a centre punch to make a whole bunch of dots in the wood, spelling out his name. If anyone out there knows Mr. Watson, please give him a kick in the nuts for me.

Have both the Longbranch and the Swift but the oddest one is what appears to be a charger loading Long Lee. The reciever and bolt are one piece cast iron The trigger guard and magazine also one piece

...or better yet, get Albayo's new stock. :)
