Hey folks
A friend of mine is getting a Longbranch refurbished and is wondering about typical cartouches for the furniture. One in particular is under the receiver. There are 3 typically seen. One is the C broad head. The second is the LB stamp underlined with a number.
The third is the topic of conversation. I believe it to be a government inspection stamp. Appears to be a oval type shape with a C broad head and a number? Anyone have any information on the purpose of this stamp and can verify the markings within?
Example: this rifle has 2 of the stamps in question
