longer barrel for 590A1

I have a Mossberg 590A1 and was looking to put a longer barrel on for duck this year to see how I like it. (want to have a back up for the over under)

From what I have read 50% of people say you can't go over 20" on it, while others say you can.

Any advise?
I asked a guy at Wholesale, but we know how helpful that can be.

If you're running a 18" barreled 590, I've heard you can use the same barrels as the 835's, just can't use 3 1/2"shells that it's chambered for because of the shorter receiver of the 590.

If you're running a 20" 590,you're SOL,unless you can get a gunsmith to mod a 835 barrel to fit.

why would you need a 835 barrel? i have been looking into a 590 couse i thaught they used the same barrels as the 500, if not i might just stick with the simple 500 series.

500's mostly use a magazine screw end, although not all,the 590's all have a magazine end cap,making it easier to clean the mag tube.
The barrels are not innerchangeable between 500's and 590's, them or between 18.5" and 20" 590's
