Longer OAL is ok in .40 right?

As long as it cycles?

I'm going to make up some .40 for my m&p and it seems to feed the DRG 180gr FP fine with an OAL of 1.133.

This just means reduced pressure compared to lyman listed loads at 1.125 right?

(Working up an 800x load if anyone has any tips)

Thx

I load to a OAL of 1.55 (5.3g Unique) for my STI Trojan, otherwise I get the rds popping up in the mags when feeding. I use 1.15 for my all my other 40cal guns: CZ75,G22.

As long as it feeds okay, I would go for it. I wouldn't go shorter than published OAL without starting at the bottom of the load spec. Pistol cartridges don't have a lot of volume to begin with, and when you seat a bullet deeper, you reduce the volume, and increase the pressure.

correct, OAL is just a guideline and not something that needs to be followed to the letter or in this case number.
