I've recently made the switch to longshot for my .45ACP reloading needs, and altough I am really impressed by the new load's performance and accuracy, this load is also really dirty, especially near the muzzle of the gun. After firing 50 shots, my Fiber Optic front sight was unusable because it was covered with a light layer of carbon, preventing light from entering the fiber.
Has anyone else experienced the same thing, is there a way to fix it or must I carry cleaning patches in my pockets to clean the sight between stages?
Load Information
Caliber : .45ACP
Casings : Mixed Winchester, Remington, Federal, PMC, CCI, Military
Primers : Federal Large Pistol
Powder : Hodgdon Longshot - 6.2 grains
Bullet : Frontier CMJ 230 grains RN
