look at this big doe

Not mine

my wife wants to know if that was ur first deer? we hang em up upside down because its more easy to skin and butcher them.

Well no. This wasn't my first deer.It wasn't even my deer. But this was late at night and I didn't have the energy (all by myself) to hang it properly that night. That's the way we dragged it out. The next day I made a gambrel and hung it upside down so I could work on it. All is done. Went well.

Not trying to slag on you but you left the guts in overnight? How is that for taste and is gutting it harder the next day?

I shot a doe this year estimated at 130-140 lbs field weight (wasnt easy to drag by myself), maybe 3-4 years old, and the the deer is your photo is much broader all over - I'd estimate field weight + or - 180-190 lbs.

this is my "big" doe of the year.
(i am 6 foot 3" and i have no idea how big she is.)

Ontario does are way smaller than anything west of Thunder Bay, the biggest
I have seen in our area could easily fit onto the rear rack of a quad.

The heaviest Doe at our local Big-Buck competition was 150.0 lbs (field dressed).

I was there when it was weighed in. ;)
