well the scope im looking at is Zeiss CONQUEST 6.5-20x50.ill be putting on a savage 12F/TR in .300WSM(custom).shoting about 300-600.what im really looking for is head to head compared to the VX-III.

Optically as good, side parallex adjustment nicer & easier than front adjustment style. Bad side that I was told of, was that the finish started to look washed out on some after a few years of use. I've used both & have since sold the Conquest but kept the 6.5-20X "40mm" VX III. Ease of service is another thing to look at. The one scope I would advise you to stay away from is the Conquest 3-12X 56mm scope only because it's so frigen heavy.

I opted for the Conquest over the VXIII for my centerfires (I have two EFR Leupolds on my rimfires). The conquests are very nice scopes. I don't know which reticle you'd want but check out the Rapid Z ones. I personally really like them. Also here's a very good review of the various target scopes:

Conquest

for sure Conquest. The lens are more clearer. warranty are excellent but you wouldn't need it. I bought mine for just over 4 years now from PA. USA at almost half the price(Can.$ included shipping)as up here and it still looks as new as the day I bought it, no problem what so ever. I have read and heard a lot about Leu. warranty (good service) and all that. If you buy one, you are going to need it. I have personally seen 4 Leu high end scopes return at WSS in one week. I will not touch it. (over priced)

I'm no expert and I don't do competition but only use scopes at the range and for hunting. I like the conquest over the others I have (NF< Sightron, Luep, Hawk, Busnell) because of the reticle and the target is easy to find quickly. I love the reticle that is described here. The price also seems reasonable. i

Agree, the Zeiss conquest look great for scope and the price will not break you bank, I use to think that the 1" is not enough until I look though Mighty Hunter Zeiss and was very Amazing clear when compare to 30mm Leupold Mark4, about the same or better quality but better price!
