WOOT!

Well I am proud to say that BOTH my kids now have their probationary Black Badges!! They passed their final exercises for the course at the Oxford club on Thursday.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to Azone for his help and perseverence in getting them through this journey. It was a great experience for all three of us.

I would also like to thank Relliot for the special help he gave my daughter "Trinity Angel here" to overcome her eye domminance problems. She is now a confident and more importanly HAPPY IPSC shooter!! I do not know if we could have done it without you.

Special mention to the gang at the Wentworth Club and the 15:00 squad who treated them both great when they went to shoot the ICS stages on Friday afternoon. You made them both feel like they were already part of the "IPSC Family". I look forward to venturing to many matches with them over the next few years..... Times I will certainly cherrish!

Please excuse me while I post a few PROUD DAD pics!!:dancingbanana: :dancingbanana:   :D :D :)

Here is Diablo (formerely Storm Jr) showing his score of SIX "A" hits on his prone portion of the course!!

These are a couple of great kids too. In this day and age that seems a rare quality, and I think these youngsters will be fabulous ambasadors for our sport. They are a welcome addition to the IPSC family.
Welcome!

That's great,It's nice to see the young ones getting into it.My kid has been shooting for 2 years now, starting his 3rd season on Jan 7,he is now 14,just glad he shoots in a different division!

Hell they are about kicking my ass right now. I have not shot since September as I have been working on their shooting. I was getting Mikes and PTs like CRAZY at Wentworth.

I thought that these might be some interesting pics.

Here is Trinity back in 1999 I think. That would put her about 9 years old or so. She is with May Russell who has been an inspiration to her. IIRC that is the Canadian Nationals or the Ont Provincials in Guelph.

And here are the two of them again on Friday at Wentworth....my the time flies!!

It's great to see them join us ;)

I'm happy to see that the Lady category of IPSC Ont Prod division will no longer be (largely) dependant on MY equipment to keep it going!! Excellent! ;) (there are several new Lady shooters, this summer is going to be FUN FUN FUN!)

Ohh, and I hope TA didn't take my comment re her Glock too seriously, I was just joking for Ciara's benefit (whose feelings about shooting a Glock are such that we use that prospect to threaten her, whenever she shoots Mikes or PTs :D )

Thanks for the post, I am trying to convince my eldest (12yrs) that he can shoot matches with me. Maybe these will help.

Oh yeah, you're a great dad.

Go for it 4string! The more kids we can get in this sport the better.

Mind you.......prepare yourself for having to load MORE ammo!

I had to buy a new press to keep the kids fed with 9mm!

well 4string just for you information, IPSC Alberta does not charge juniors (under the age of 18) for their Black Badge course (we pay the instructor for his time directly.) in addition we do not charge them membership fees and match fees are half price. if they are over 18 but still living at home we charge $40 for each additional member in the same household after an initial members joins at the $60 rate.

Well it is now official!

Both "Trinity Angel" and "Diablo" finished their qualifier matches today at the Oxford L1 match.

Many thanks to Ron for helping them through this great day!

It sure was great to be shooting with BOTH my kids on the same squad. I am looking forward to quite a few more matches traveling as a FAMILY!

Now to save you some personal time, you just have to get them reloading.......?

John;

All good now but just wait till they both decide they want to go Open!!!
Just remember the 'Junior Rule', if they beat you, $10.00 for a level I,
$20.00 for a level II and $30.00 for a level.........Time for a second job. The only thing you have going for you is, you are a better shot than I am!
Best of luck, you already know you will never replace this time, hope to see you guy's soon.
