Two sources of such lanyards that I know of, both Canadian but they will gladly ship to the U.S. -

Jean Plamondon, of P&S Militaria has them on his "Miscellaneous" page for C$11 (US$9)- both a gray/green (item #926. left below) and a khaki (#927, right below) version:

Alternatively, Dave Hiorth operating as SgtBilkoTrading on eBay, has a listing there for a different khaki version, at a "Buy It Now" listing price of US$10 - listing says that he has 44 of them ...

Thanks for the info and links. My $5.00 Adams looks good on my wall. The lanyard will improve the display.

I bought it at a junk shop (now it would be an antique store) in Saint John, NB. in the early `50's. It is missing parts, ie, main spring, ejector rod and assembly, etc. It makes a good wall hanger and has caused a stir or two when I wore it at a uniform inspection. I'll take a photo or two and start a new thread.

I don't want to hijack this thread.

Oh ... forgot to mention ...

I have lanyards of both types shown in my post above - for "use in the field", I prefer the kind offered by SgtBilkoTrading - i.e. the single strand version. Less to get tangled up on stuff, and effectively longer.

Coincidentally, I recently did some movie "screen captures" from Khartoum, and here it appears that General Gordon/Charlton Heston - in this rather fuzzy image - is using the double strand type on his .476 Enfield revolver, although it apparently doesn't have the second "turk's head" to keep it snugged up around the neck ...

Not that Hollywood is a good refernce for this type being "correct" for that era, of course ...

Came on the pistol. Unfortunately the owner's dead and the kid is a bit of a flake (well, an LMD city dwelling type guy with no interest in guns). I guess the story died with him.
