Hey there, just got myself a little Krag- Jorgensen, converted to 6.5x55 by Globe. Nice little monty carlo stock. I think it's kinda cool, but I know I've got to keep the pressures down, not like my Tikka 6.5 Thinking of using 120 and 140 Coreloks. What about using 5 or 6 time fired brass from my Tikka? Seeing as the pressures are lower I was thinking about running them through the FL die and then get a couple of loads out of them for the Krag. Anybody got some loads for one of these old girls? I don't think this one will every be worth a fortune, but she sure feels nice to carry and I think it will go on some camping trips this summer and fall. thanks guys

The 6.5x55 Krag was the service rifle of Norway. It's better built than the Americian Krag, having a bearing second lug.American manual loads were lowered for it. European loads are warmer. But check the manual, some are for modern rifles only.

I have been shooting hornady100 gr.sp and 120gr.barnes tsx's from my krag6.5x55 carbine and my sporterized krag.
They both shoot factory/reloads without showing any over preasure signs .
I found the best load for 100gr. hornady's to be imr4350 @47gr.
For the 120 gr.barnes Tsx's i use imr4350@47 gr.
You'll love the krags accuracy!Pre WWII. have the best workmanship/accuracy.
