lookin for a new coyote rig. help w cal

I used to use my 223 for yotes. Due to the longer ranges here, I now use my 243. It is a fantastic cartridge and excellent performance with 55 or 70 grain bullets. My preference is the 70 gr pills.

If you want to salvage hides, go with a 17 Remington, then either a 204 or 223. My preference is sporter weight rifles in these calibers. Go with a Rem 700 CDL, BDL, SPS or a VTR. I really like my latest acquistion, a Vanguard Sub Moa 223, they were 200 off at WSS. Good luck and let us know what you come up with.

ive decided to cheap out on the rifle and save money for good glass (buris, vortex or nikon coyote)
decided on either a h&r thumbhole handi rifle in 204( if i can find one), or a stevens in 223.
I like the weight and short length of the handi rifle (good truck gun) feels solid
But i like the extra three shots from the stevens, and the fact that u can cam it up w the changing seasons.
ive been told that u can handload a 223 to be super fast. and not loose as much kinetic energy down range, hopefully without adding to much recoil.
Well see. at least ive narrowed it down!
