Well I recently ordered a 200 round box of the Missouri 300gr buffalo #2. My lyman manual had no data for that type of bullet, so I ordered the lyman cast manual #4 and it also had no load data for it.

Has anyone used this bullet with the following powders?
Reloader 7, IMR 4198, IMR 4064, unique.

Any advise would be great. These will be mostly shot out of a 1874 sharps reproduction and a chiappa 1886. So looking for trapdoor lever loads.

One of the issues you will have to contend with is bullet hardness. BHN #? Perhaps you could describe the bullet in detail?
Probably cast, but what lube is used, gas checks, RN, FN, etc.? H4198 is a fabulous powder for the 45-70. What kinda velocity are you looking to achieve? Fast or slow, & are you just punching paper or hunting, or shooting plates & bowling pins. More info is alway welcome.
Starting at 30 grains of H4198 would offer a very mild load with minimal recoil. We can go from there…..
